沖縄には、9月にしまくとぅば（島ことば）の日がある。2014年の今年は、琉球諸語の豊かさを改めてかみしめる節目となった。 There is a day which is called ‘Shimakutuba no hi (a day to use and remember old tongue/s of Ryukyu islands)’ in September. This year, 2014, is marked to acknowledge the diversity of Ryukyu languages. 危機言語のカテゴリーの中には、沖縄のことば（琉球諸語）も含まれている。今年は沖縄県内だけではなく、沖縄県を越えて、世界各国の危機言語の危機言語話者自身や危機言語に関わる国内外の研究者が現状報告をする二つの国際大会が東京と那覇においてあった。 In the category of endangered languages, the languages in Okinawa are included.　Not only within Okinawa prefecture but beyond geographical Okinawa prefecture, there were two international conferences on the topic of endangered languages in the world in Tokyo and Naha, where the speakers and researchers of endangered languages exchanged the updated report. 9月13日には東京（学習院大学でリンガパックスのシンポジウムhttp://www.linguapax-asia.org/symposium-program.html?lang=ja）で、また、9月17-20日に那覇（沖縄国際大学等で危機言語財団による国際年次大会http://ryukyuans.org/new_program）が行われた。 There were two internationa conferences: on Sep 13 in Tokyo, at Gakushuin University, a symposium by Linguapax (http://www.linguapax-asia.org/symposium-program.html?lang=ja) and between Sep […]

Although I have been to Moomin World in June, it turned to be October. I shall continue report on Moomin World, this time in the perspective of nursing room in the amusement park. ムーミン・ワールドに足を運んだのは6月でしたら、すでに10月になってしまいました。それでもムーミン・ワールドについて報告を続けることにしましょう、今回は、このテーマパークの授乳室という点から報告します。 I was attracted by this baby sling and a dyad of this father and baby in my first sight. So, I approached him and asked him the permission of the photograph and explained about my website. There was this baby’s older sibling and his mum beside them, so obviously it is logical one parent carried a baby and the other a child. In Naantali, we had to park and leave the car. Then we got on the official bus to the coast, bought tickets and crossed the bridge. ナーンタリに着くと、車を特定の駐車場に停めます。その先からは、専用のバスが駐車場から海辺まで運んでくれ、海辺の施設でチケットを購入、それから橋を渡りました。 The Moominworld is located on one individual island and this is the entrance to the island.ムーミンワールドは一つの島がそのまま立地になっていて、これがその島への入り口です。 The map of the island is this website　ムーミンワールドの地図はこのウェブサイトで。　http://www.muumimaailma.fi/en/info/moominworld_map There were Moomin characters staying around the Moomin house in the middle of the island and they were willing to be taken photographs.島の中央に位置するムーミンの家の周りにはムーミンのキャラクターたちがうろうろしていて、みな、一緒に写真を撮っていました。 Since I have been researching on children’s language acquisition, I observed several interesting interaction between Mooming characters (adults) and children. SS 20(2) To the Moomin World ムーミン・ワールドへ向かう

On the second day of my Finland visit, I reserved one ‘resting’ day before 6 day consecutive conference schedule over the weekend. I hopped on the train and went to the third biggest city, Turku. It was two hour journey from Helsinki to Turku. Very comfortable and efficient service on the train. I even enjoyed the scenery over my coffee . フィンランド二日目。学会が週末にかけて連続6日間続くので、休養日として一日を確保。この日はフィンランド第3の都市、トゥルクに出かけるために電車に飛び乗りました。ヘルシンキからトゥルクまでは電車で2時間。とても快適で時間通りの電車の旅行。車内でコーヒーを飲みながらのんびり景色を楽しみました。 The train was two story and the side of the train, I found the old familiar picture. For Sociolinguistic Symposium 20(SS20), I visited Finland for the first time. Usually I passed over the land of Finland on airplane on the way to Europe, but this time I had a good reason to drop by. 社会言語学会第20回大会(SS20)のために、初めてフィンランドを訪れました。いつもは、ヨーロッパの旅程の中で飛行機でフィンランドの上を通り過ぎるだけでしたが、今回はフィンランドに立ち寄る正当な理由があったわけです。 SS20 was held from 15th-18th June, in Jyvaskyla, Finland. I was lucky enough to be able to attend the pre-conference workshop on Language Policy, so I stayed in Jyvaskyle for 7 days all together. SS20は実際にはフィンランドのユバスキュラという町で６月の15-18日に開催されました。私は幸運なことに学会前に開催された「言語政策」ワークショップにも参加ができることになり、合計でユバスキュラには７日間滞在することになりました。 From Tokyo, first I arrived in Helsinki. 始まりはインカ Inca as the beginning of Peru

前回のブログでは、ペルーという国が意外と多文化な国であるということについて書きました。もちろん日本も異なる文化を持つ社会であると言えますが、ペルーという国はその成り立ちからその中に、様々な文化を内包していました。ペルーといえばインカ帝国が有名ですが、実はそのインカ帝国、領域内を一つの文明のみが支配していたわけではありません。インカの文明がその版図を広げた理由は、征服した地域の文明を尊重したからだと言われています。インカの有名な石組みも元をたどれば、征服した文明からもらった技術なのです。たくさんの文化が合わさったインカの文明も、スペインの植民地化によって破壊されてしまいます。もちろん完璧に破壊されるわけではなく、スペインの文化と土着の文化はその政治的なパワーによる偏向はあっても、ひとつの国に同居していました。独立に際しても、その中核はスペイン系の比較的富裕な人たちなので大きな変化は起こりませんでしたが、次第に”ペルー”というアイデンティティをより強固に持ち始めます。その後、時代は世界がどんどんつながり始め、ペルーにもたくさんの移民がやってくるようになります。ヨーロッパから、アジアから、様々なところからやってきた移民がペルーに新たな文化を持ち込みます。今でもそれらの文化は残っていますが、その紹介は次回にしましょう。次回の内容のヒントはお写真で。 In the foremer post of my blog, I mentioned about the variety of cultures in Peru. Of course, Japan also has various culture in that land. However, the history of Peru begin with various cultures. Peru is famous as the country of Incan Empire. Actually, this empire did not controll the territory with monoculture system. The reasonwhy the empire could conquer territory is because the empire respect cultures which were conquered. The origion of stone’s arrengement technology which is famous as Incan culture was from other culture. The well combination of cultures, Incan Empire was destroyed by Spain. I live in the south of Brazil, in a small island connected to South America by a bridge. The majority of the people who live there are immigrants from Germany or Italy, so there aren’t many Nikkei people there. There is a big lake in the island where oyster culture is done frequently. It is said to be the first place to start oyster culture in Brazil. The main food in Brazil is meat, but being a Japanese person, I miss eating fish. The biggest library of Japanese books in South America

There is a library with the biggest collection of books written in Japanese in all South America. Here, in Colonia Pinhal, you can find the library with the biggest collection of Japanese books in South America. As you enter the library, you can see the section of “Young Adults”. There are more than 70 thousand books neatly placed in bookshelves. And the books that aren’t organized…more than one can count. There are all second-hand books in Japanese. From children’s books and comics, novels and magazines, even illustrated encyclopaedias and historical documents.
